The History of A-BEN-A-QUI

The A-BEN-A-QUI story began over 60 years ago – long before cleaning products were recognized as “environmentally friendly.” In 1951, the product, a universal cleaner paste, was developed by a small family business in Vermont. The paste, arguably one of the oldest environmentally preferable cleaners in the U.S., was primarily sold to service stations along the East Coast where it was used to as an all purpose cleaner to remove a varity of stains and marks from floors to kitchen appliances.

Today, A-BEN-A-QUI is used to clean a variety of surfaces and is bought by and sold to a wide variety of clients ranging from small businesses and schools, to fortune 500 companies and major universities across the country, and even has a strong presence abroad.

Because we know what it takes to manufacture and produce an effective and powerful green cleaner, our product’s recipe has remained the same since its inception. As a result, A-BEN-A-QUI continues to be a leading brand of environmentally friendly cleaners, and has even been certified Totally Chlorine Free by the Chlorine Free Product Association (www.chlorinefreeproducts.org). Is also endorsed by The Grassroots Environmental Product Guidelines (www.grassrootsinfo.org).
